I agree with the government was allocated RM3bilion for loans under the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) despite the current economic downturn. Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin said these loans were available to the 163,779 new students excepted for the July intake into public and private universities nationwide. Students especially those who want to apply applications into Universities; it is a good opportunity that must not be missed. Many advantages will be having for new students if they want to apply this loan.
First, urged graduates, especially those who were still unemployed, to apply to further their studies for Masters and PhD degrees have a chances to apply it. It will decrease the amount of who were still unemployed. It also increases the amount of graduates that have qualification in Masters and PhD degrees. This will can they have a job easily because their qualification is high to get a professional job.
Second, this loan also will be giving advantages for new students, especially those who has finance problem. From that, the students do not burden to the parents and families as the cost to study in University that they require are very expensive. This is because the government will be granted a total of 10000 scholarships by the Public Service Department, including 2000 places for studies overseas. The students will have opportunity to further their studies if they cannot afford.
Next, a total of 128,295 places available in Public Higher Education institution to new intake. This will be happen because the higher amount of loans will be granted to students. The students think that they not to be burden their families anymore to support them in study cost.
Graduates or new students that who want to further their studies should grab this opportunity as places are limited. It is a golden opportunity that must not be missed. The Government also is continuing with its effort in assisting students even during the bleak economic climate.
